he shoulda put the 370 or 350 z V6 in it. Would please the non-v8 fanbois (me) and would prove that u can still prolly make more power than the ka.
And yea that solid green version was sooo sick!

It sincerely depends on what you want out of the car and your time frame and ability to have your car down and all. If you want to go KA-T you really should rebuild the engine and do some internals work to make sure you're not going to blow the thing up. (I've seen this happen far too many times). If you want to just daily a car and get decent gas mileage until you have the time to put money and work into it, KA's are great as long as they don't have the infernal awful lurking rod knock and you've removed those pesky chain guides that seem to break off.
The SR is a great swap and they're reliable. The issue with this lies in the fact that finding certain parts is hard. Sure, the FWD version was sold in the states, but there are certain things that you need specific to the engine that came in Japan only. The swap itself isn't terribly hard, though there are certainly things to take into consideration like an upgrade from the side mount to the front, knowing your way around the harness and making sure you've got everything like it should be for that engine to not over heat (usually you'll see that the SR radiator is used instead of the KA, as well, more for the ease of hoses than anything, but the KA radiator works just fine).
All in all, it's personal opinion. For the price of doing a really clean, good SR swap you can build a KA-T that will keep up and have more torque. It's a matter of what you want to put into it and what you want out of it, and how well you know your way around rebuilding an engine/swapping an engine. Around here, KA-T's don't seem to last very long, so maybe I'm biased but I would steer clear unless I knew all the work was done 100% correctly, hence why I have an SR that was swapped by the south east's best SR shop. Sorry for the ridiculous post.. I got a little carried away..

Nah man that's good info! Lol well said. Basically what I'm doing with my KA, is building it with forged internals to hold 500... And I plan On running 300 just because it will be my daily... Then, I can't Still have fun on the streets and the track.

See, you're being smart and BUILDING yours first. So many people don't do that and think that they can just change out the head gasket and call it a day.. Which would be fine if you were running like 5 pounds and babying the shit out of it.. but most people won't baby it. I'm just glad to see you're being reasonable and intelligent with your build, and I wish you luck!
